Coralee ~ Spring Mood Board Challenge

Hello again Scrapbooking friends! I'm pretty excited to share my Mood Board Challenge layout with you all today. If you aren't familiar with this challenge you can read about it HERE. Make sure you enter for the chance to win a kit credit!

For this challenge I decided to do a travellers notebook layout. I was drawn to the pinks and greens, and of course the flowers! So some things from my mums stash were used while I was visting the family at the beginning of the month.

Something I have really loved while browsing Travellers Notebook layouts is having the patterned paper on one side and white on the other. Something about it is really aesthetically pleasing to me. So I went ahead and used this pretty floral paper on the left.

I then layered some card stock behind the photo of my daughter. I tried using just 1 piece of card stock but it didn't look right. Layering also meant that I could tie in all the colours I was using even more.

For the spotted flags and strips I used some washi on white card stock. This makes the design more opaque and easier to work with (easier to cut a triangle out, move around etc). Some scraps of the card stock, gold circle stickers and journal-ling and I was practically done! The last finishing touch was the date which I used the stamp in the basic kit for.

Once I was finished I realised there was a little mark in the top right area of the page, so popping the smile tag over it was a simple fix that also added to the page.

I hope you enjoyed my Mood Board Layout and I am looking forward to seeing your entries!

Morgyn ~ Documenting December ~ Kit Organisation

Hi everyone,
Morgyn here sharing how I have organised my Documenting December goodies.

This year I am making my own travellers Notebook style 'album' to document all my Christmas photos.  I am using this years kit from Scrapping Fun Kits along with some other goodies I have had in my stash.

First up I sorted the kit into different components; woodveneer, embellishments, washi tape, stamps etc.  Then allocated 1 compartment per embellishment type.  I am using and Antonius container from Ikea.  In this little section I have out all my chipboard, wood veneer, trim/twine and fabric embellishments.

Next I trimmed down the cut-a-part sheet and put that in it's on little section with a few other die cuts. The next little compartment is holding my Christmas stamp sets, washi tapes (I have too many hehe) and a huge roll of red twine.

Lately I put all my large pieces (papers, doilies, paper bags etc) in the biggest section. I added in a couple of 6x6 paper pads and my countdown numbers.  This is pretty much how I will keep my goodies set up on my desk for the month of December. As the container is open it makes it super easy to rummage through and find the perfect piece to finish off a page + having it all in 1 spot makes it easy to take with me if I want to scrap somewhere else.

If you would like to see a real time video of me putting it all together you can check it out here.

Thanks for stopping by,

Morgyn xx

Sarah - October Kit - October Planner Layout

Hello crafty friends, Sarah here with a planner layout for you this month using the amazing October kit. Not only did I create this layout, but have a stack of product left over in the kit for more projects. Whilst we do take the boys trick or treating at Halloween, I enjoy any opportunity to play dress ups! This kit is fantastic for those Halloween off the page projects, layouts or cards. It's equally suitable for any other projects in this colour range, as you can see by the many ideas the Design Team has put together.

This kit has many different elements - some of my favorite parts include the cut aparts cards and labels, punchinellea, flair buttons, washi tapes and sequins!. Lets take a closer look at that beautiful stacked pumpkin paper embellishment. I used the patterned paper to fill in some of the planner boxes. This A5 planner layout is from Scrapper's Delights - check it out on their website here. The ribbon in the kit filled the far right box and I used the embellishments to decorate the page.
As you can see in the background, the gorgeous silver spider web charms are hung from twine and adhered to the page. The witches hat paperclip, as seen in the photo below is a lovely touch to the layout also. The washi tape selection in this kit is generous - the black and silver bat tape across the top of the layout (a earlybird bonus) as well as the thin washi tape I have used on the planner blocks (plus another one I didn't use) comes in the kit. Oh, who am I kidding...I love the whole lot!
Anyway, thanks for joining me for this post - I look forward to seeing what you do with this kit, whether it be a planner page, layout or card! Until next time....

Shay October 2017 - Bad Witch Costume

This kit is a fun kit!  I have used the kit to help create an awesome layout for a very bad costume!

I started by creating a background using gelato's in Lime, Boysenberry and Earl Grey, giving the effect of the night sky, I added the bottom with Gelato's after I had stuck it down
(anyone else do that stick it down then change it?)  I had fun using my cricut air 2 on this one creating the tree, Jack O'Lantern, witch and spiders, to add to the layout making the colours of the kit stand out more with the bright orange and purples.

I matted the photo with the orange and black cardstock and the orange striped bag cut down and only a single layer. I put the photo on the bottom left hand corner leaving the bottom of the bag out to give some texture and room to put a mini title.  In the left hand corner of the picture I made a little embellishment cluster with spiders web from the cricut and the flai and flower from the  kit. The green flowers also appear in the mini title to the righ of the photo.

I placed the ribbon from Octobers Kit along the bottom of the page tucking it just behind the photo and leaving enough to wrap around and secure at the back of the page. I placed the tree and Jack O'latern on the ribbon.

The tilte was constructed with Skinny Alpha's from Doodlebug Design and mani stickers from Kaisercraft. Bad Witch Costume come from the fact that my costume was super cheap and really bad looking!

I had lots of fun with this kit and I am sure you did too!  Thank you for looking.

Coralee ~ October Kit ~ Oz Comic Con

Hello Scrapbooking Friends!
Today I have a layout using the October Kit and I'm pretty happy with out it turned out. For this layout I drew inspiration from the two photo's on the page - from my time volunteering at Oz Comic Con in 2015 where I worked in the Cosplay Central section alongside the amazing Yaya Han - a phenomenal cosplayer!

Green and Purple are the colours that were everywhere at Oz Comic Con, (and purple happened to be the colour of my hair) so I was pretty stoked that this kit had both in - making it easy for me to tie it all together.

For the letters I just used stickers that were in my stash. I happened to have some awesome glittery ones. For 'Yaya Han' I used purple and for the title of the page I used a combination of these greeny black ones and the purple for the zigzaggy flag and the mustache washi I used some washi from Kaszazz and taped it onto white cardstock (the zig zag washi I did two lines of washi and lined them up super close so it looked like it was thicker than it was). I did this so that the patters would stay just black and white and none of what was happening behind them would show through. I wanted them to be nice and solid.
The green paper with purple spotches I made really easily with some Dylusions Spray and purple Smooch.

I wanted to use the punchinella but I've never used it in a layout before so was a bit nervouse. but eventually I was pretty happy with tucking it behind some of the paper. I also trimmed some of it so it would have a nice strip affect with the washi that went down the page.

For the other papers - the two striped papers were digital ones from pixel scrapper I got printed. The purple striped one didn't print how I expected but it still worked well. The rainbow dotted paper was from the fluro Scrapping Fun Kit!

The tag I simply created by snipping the corners off a small piece of purple card stock, and using my cropodile over a hole I punched out! Simple. I LOVED using the purple twine through it as well.

Along the bottom I decided to also use the bat washi that came in the kit, it was cute and I felt like it really help finish off the layout. I used the zig zag ribbon and purple gradiant washi side by side behind the papers. I didn't use super long strips, just want I wanted poking out and then lined them up carefully either side of the top and bottom. The purple patterned washi you also see on the page is a part of the kit too!

Finally I finished off by scattering (well strategically scattering) the sequins from the kit. They were the PERFECT touch for this layout.

Raelene -TN Scrapbooking Kit - 3 layouts on a train.

I got short notice for a trip to Brisbane with the boys for appointments this week and I thought the new TN Scrapbooking Kits from Scrapping Fun Kits were perfect for taking minimal supplies to scrap.  It meant I could take even less weight in my bag then what I did last November when I scrapped on the Tilt Train.

I put up a video on how I set up my TN for this trip, the only thing I added after filming the video was I added the papers from the August Kit from Scrapping Fun Kits and a Music die cut.

It was a great way to pass time on our journey and I got 3 layouts done very quickly.

The first layout I worked was about going to lunch with some close friends, something we had not done in a couple of years so it was a real treat.
I only used items from the promo kit for the TN Scrapbooking Kit range to complete this layout and the date stamp from the Basics Kit.
My stamping is smudged but I am happy with the results given I was on a moving train.
I used the cute yellow wood with flower paper on the right and some of the die cuts from the kit on the left.
I then used some of the washi from the kit to pull the layout together by having it go across the 2 pages.

The second layout I worked on was about how much I love hearing the boys practice their instruments.
I used items from the August Embellishment Kit and the 2 3D metal flower die cuts from the promo kit.
Getting a straight edge with scissor on a train was difficult but I really wanted to trip the papers and one of the photos.

For my third layout I ironically was recording my last Tilt Train trip with Mr C.
I started by cutting the spotty paper in half so I could put it across the top of the spread.
I wanted a black and white only layout so restricted myself just to black and white bits from what I had with me.
I added some of this cute washi along the bottom of the paper to hide my crooked cutting.
Then I built my layers with what I had left that was black and white and my photos.
I used a newsprint tag from the promo kit and a journal card with the word Tuesday repeated all over it from the Basics Kit to build some layers.
Cutting my photo with just scissors on a moving train meant it wasn't perfect but I do love how the layout turned out.
I feel I need to add something to this one, not sure what but I think it will be one I tinker with later.

Scrapping on a long train journey is a great way to pass the time and these kits are perfect for portable scrapbooking.
I loved being able to get these layouts done while the boys listened to music and read books.

Shay - October Kit - Bride of Frankenstein

Hello everyone!

This month see's a quick approaching christmas and Halloween...This layout I have done is me about 15 years ago dressed for a Halloween Street Party held in Wynum Queensland.

Made use of a old bridesmaid dress to become the Bride of Frankenstein...so when the kit arrived for this month, I knew which photo I had to scrap, the colours were perfect!

I started off using background paper from my stash, and put downt he punchinella on an angle behind the picture. I then matted the photo with two of the papers from the October kit, the colours worked well as the photo is about 15 years old.

I added the paper flower and the flair to one corner with the two orange flowers highlighted by the green flowers in the middle. Witches hat on paperclip was tucked in behind. I continued to put embellishments on the opposite corner the circle from the kit, purple rose and a tiny little silver pumkin.

The title was made up of more papers from my halloween stash, and thickers (the name escapes me but will try and find them) I finished the page off with purple sequins to give a bit of bling to the page.

Lauren - Spring Moodboard - Traveler's Notebook Layout

Lauren ~
Traveler's Notebook Layout -- October Moodboard

When I challenge myself with a moodboard challenge I look at it and think about what stands out to me - something that I can relate to.

So as you read this have a look at Scrapping Fun Kits Spring Moodboard
and think about what resonates with you. Use this to start the creativity flowing and end up with a great layout (whatever format it is).

So what do I see, you might ask.......

I seen yellow and purple flowers that light and airy like spring blossoms, and a beautiful bird.

So with that in mind I set out searching my stash, I wanted a bird stamp (and I thought I would have one seeing as I have plenty). I couldn't find a bird stamp but did find a few flower stamp sets.

I settled on one stamp (from one of the reject shop's collection) and cut off the leave so that it stamped just the flower and stem part. This reminded me of the lower right hand side photo - the long stems and little delicate flowers at the ends.

I then used the colours to guide my ink choices and went to town stamping the flowers - overlapping them and trying to spread out the colours to cover the bottom half of the traveler's notebook insert page. I didn't stamp the flowers in straight line instead making it more random and realistic (in case didn't know flowers don't often grow in straight lines and rows hehe).

Seeing as the other thing I was drawn to when looking at the moodboard was the bird, I set out to add it to this layout.  I didn't want to ruin the flowers or the paper, as I was going to experiment with freehand drawing and watercolour pencils. So I grabbed some scrap paper and started drawing with a pencil. Simplistic bird was all I could muster, and once I was happy I traced over it with black sharpie pen.

I used similar colours to colour in the bird, using water colour pencils and water brush.  I did make a bird I wasn't happy with the colours and then made a second one.

I used a glue stick to stick down the bird and then twiddle and tapped my fingers trying to decide what else to add to the layout as it was a bit bare.

I started doodling a border with the pencils (not using water this time), carrying over the colour scheme to tie in the whole layout.

I then, somehow plucked the idea out of thin air, to draw a box next to the bird. Pinterest was searched for a "bird quote" to add to this box.

finished the layout off with stamped hearts and the word October, I did mis-stamp some hearts near the October and covered the mistake with tiny word stickers (i.e. our best friend hehe).

Here is the completed Traveler's Notebook.

Let me know what you think of my TN layout, and also what you think about when look at our moodboard.
Share your layout on the scrapping fun kits Facebook page, so we can all be inspired.

Lisa - October Kit - Be A Spider

Hello again, and welcome to my 2nd October Kit Layout. The colours in this Kit are really Awesome and because it's gets so close to Halloween I thought I would get a little "creepy" with Spiders. These photo's are of my Son with his favourite Spider T-shirt and pretending to be a Spider 😂.

I have used the thick 12x12 Raw Cardboard from the back of a Paperstack as the background. Then using the Punchinella from the Kit as a template I have dabbed some black ink to create the little dot effect. Layering the Striped Paper Bag and Gorgeous patterned Green Googly Eye Paper makes for a great background for the Matted photos to be mounted on. I filled the top of the bag with an Embellishment Cluster of items from the Kit and a couple of Arrows I made myself from Textured Zig Zag Cardstock which compliments the Fantastic colourful Zig Zag Ribbon from the Kit which I have run down the page to get it's full effect.

Coming down the page to the title accented with a little cork arrow. I have used Typeset Alphas from Kmart which I have distressed with black ink to help make stand out and Thickers for "SPIDER". Now to the actual Spider on the page 😂. I have had this in my house for ages and found it after completing the layout. I just had to have it on there so I painted the Red Back Stripe on it and glued it down by the body with PVA Glue.

I hope you enjoyed this layout as much as I did and I will see you all next month.

Morgyn ~ Scrapping Fun October Kit ~ Layout Share Where's Wally

Hi Scrappers,

Morgyn here using this months Halloween inspired kit for this fun layout of Sam dressing up for Book week, we don't really celebrate Halloween here but we do LOVE dressing up.

The green 'eye' paper was perfect do go with his Where's Wally outfit - all the eyes looking for Wally.
I created a little embellishment cluster in the bottom left of the photo using a label, some washi tape, the flair badge (they all received treats on the dress up day) and a little green flower - they all coordinated together perfectly.

The Stripy paper bag was a great addition to match the stripes of the T'shirt and made another little cluster in the top right corner, using a label and another tiny green flower (how cute are those?)

I finished off my page with some white paint splatters (I got a little carried away up the top oops)
This was a super quick layout to put together, it really helps when all the kit pieces coordinate together so well.

I also have a short process video up of how I made this layout if you would like to check it out you can find it here.

Thanks for stopping by,

Raelene - Spring Moodboard - Lily

I created this layout for the Scrapping Fun Kits Bi-monthly Moodboard Challenge using my one of the Concept Kits I created when I first had the idea for a TN Kit and bits from my September Embellishment Kit.

It came together quickly and was a lot of fun to create.
The lemon and peach paper from the September Kit worked really well with the other bits from my concept kit.
I trimmed the paper so I had a small strip on the right hand page to carry the layout onto that page.

The tag behind the photo is not stuck down so I can add more to it and use it as a pull out if I need to.
It helped the pink/peach colour from the background paper pop a bit more.

This gorgeous thin script washi spread over the 2 pages helped pull the 2 pages together.
I also added this floral vellum sticker to the bottom spread over the 2 pages that matches the circle floral sticker at the top on the right with the washi to help pull it all together.

I am loving how quick and simple scrapping in a TN is, it is a great fun way to create and I look forward to having a more portable option to take with me on the tilt train than what I did last year.

I have created a Pinterest board full of TN Scrapping Layouts, so if you would like more inspiration why not check it out, this type of scrapping I am finding is a great option for the time poor scrapper like myself.

Raelene - October Kit - Planner Spread

Hi Scrapping Fun Fans,
Some of you may remember Morgyn and I challenged each other earlier in the year to use something from each month's kit in our planner each month.  So today I have a planner spread for you.

I am not big on decorating my planner pages as I can often have last minute appointments especially at this time of year, so like to leave space.  When decorating my pages with the October kit I wanted to have a fun spread in the last week of October but still leave ample space for last minute appointments.

I created a cluster with the pumpkin stack from the cut apart, 2 of the flair that I took the epoxy off and a label from the cut apart which I penned in the day on since my cluster hid the day.
Simple but cute bit of decorating for October 31st.

By using minimal supplies for my planner spread I have plenty of supplies left to scrapbook our Halloween memories this year.

Lisa - October Kit - Old Mother Hubbard

Hello everyone and welcome to the fantastic Scrapping Fun October Kit. The Kit has a Halloween feel to it but can easily be used for other non-Halloween themes. This photo is of my daughter dressed up for Book Week (an Australian School tradition where school children dress up as Book Characters). My daughter is Old Mother Hubbard from the Nursery Rhyme.

I have distressed pretty much everything by roughing up around the edges by scraping them with a pair of scissors. I have even distressed the photo and painted over it with Vintage Mod Podge to remove the shine and tone down the colours. I have coordinated the colours of the layout with the photo stacking pattern paper and some texture behind the photo. The Punchenella (Black Mesh)from the Kit adds great interest and the little paper flowers from the kit bring a little contrasting colour.

The title is the first line of the Nursery Rhyme. I was going to include the whole Rhyme but I thought it would make the layout too busy. The Lettering is from Kmart which I have coloured Purple with Ink and the words are alpha Stickers. Oh yes and the Washi tape on the corner of the photo is also from the Kit.

This is my favourite part of the Layout !! This Embellishment cluster is all from the Kit except for the Bone (which is from my stash). The Handmade flower is just gorgeous is has a soft crinkly look and feel. The Flair I have adjusted the wording to match the Rhyme (...because the doggy got no bone in the end 😞) and the web to symbolise the cobwebs in Old Mother Hubbard's cupboards. The flowers, twine and green die cut all add interest and texture to the cluster.

I hope you enjoy this layout and get some inspiration for what you can do with these months Scrapping Fun Kit.
